I know it sounds like a task mate but there's lots of vids on YouTube how to build plywood tanks using liquid rubber as sealant it just goes on like paint lots of layers (not sure cost though need to research it in oz ) , the simple way of course is to build a raised frame with plywood sides and layers of pond linner ( basically the frame becomes your hole in the ground ) , ill try find a few links later and e mail em ya , tanks looking good though mate lovin that perch how big they get ?

yea i researched it i can do it though i need to spend like 300 on lliquid ruber i thought about using my broken 150 gallon tank as the window the tank will be 7x3x2 and im di they want me to save usscusing it with my parents but they want me to save up and get a pro build a glass tank for me but i dont have that money

Using the old tank will save you a lot on glass , not sure about thickness though again research , the plywood and glue screws etc prob be 100 ish aswell , custom tanks ain't cheep to buy mate your rite st least you've got small fish at min and time to think.about it and save bit of money , keep looking on all local free ads and e bay summit will turn up just don't rush into it you've got time to think

yea im thinking about this alot but i would rather have the whole fron panal glass

welcome to mfk , how bigs the jar your getting ? If its a juvi it'll be ok for a while , as for tankmates mines killed loads over the years as you'll prob read earyier in the thread , big cats work irwini , Niger , giraffe , clarius , plecs etc , ive got a jag cichlid in with mine he's bullied him off and on for years but never causes real damage he's the only cichlid out of many who survied , ive also got a big pacu gets away with it because of size alone , you've just got to be brave try stuff and monitor it , I feed mine prawns (raw is best ) muscles , whitebait , and pellets but he'll only eat one type , pretty hard to get them on pellet but turtles has managed it , hope this helps you good luck :D

Thanks a ton EVZ! Your info will surely help me. One more thing I want to ask is, can I put sand or small gravels instead of keeping barebottom?

for my 150 i added some graval fish look happy there not much in the just like 10kg i will be adding more soon and im thinking of adding some glass shrimp for food maybe like 100 for my barras and perch and catfish but im lovin my tank i dont even watch youtube of other tanks anymore cause i got my own eco system and it is amazing i am gonna ad a clean up crew cause there messy eaters and in 6 months i will start the new tank or maybe earlier it has been fun and i will update as i go along and tell you what happen to the pond also i was wonder does any one wanna post photos of there natives and tank mates has to be aussie natives though haha
