Saratoga jardini pond build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You'll get to see em mate. My other jar is living with them. The tank seems so empty atm but i know it wont take long for them to fill it
wow that sounds like a amazing setup

not really to be honest... because rays need alot of floor space theres absolutely no structure in my tank. When they're dug into the substrate or just not moving its quite boring to look at sometimes lol

but you got the jardini and thats awsome what size tank

150*50*60. It was sposed to be a quick replacement cos I busted my 180*90*45 custom (was not impressed with myself lol). But instead of upgrading once I scrounged bak the cash, I decided to use it as a grow-out tank for my current fish while I save up again for something larger.... viscious cycle

that sucks about your tank broken but good luck with your grow out

yeah it sucks but it was my silly fault dropped a massive rock because i wanted to cleam underneath it. Landed in a corner of the tank and busted at least 2 panes of glass. Had my first ray, a big archer and 2 longtoms living in the bathtub for a few days. Repeat, was not proud of myself. Had to give up the longtoms cos they just didnt have the room to dart about in the smaller tank :( I'm actually leaning towards a large polyethelene tub for my next setup. Not as glamourous but better bang for buck and much easier to plumb. At the end of the day it boils down to $$ and cents

dam right i was gonna buy fuly grown fish like 60cm+ barra and toga but would set me back anther 400

full grown togas are not cheap, nor are they easy to find. barras on the other hand tend to be different. most of the time people are desperate to unload big ones cos they're eating machines with exponential growth rates. A word of warning, don't let your barra get used to live food otherwise he will be very pricey to maintain. Cheapest big toga i've seen was a 35-40cm leichardti the shop desperately needed the space for other fish apparently got sold for $200

im only gonna feed all my native pelllets market prawns and fish filet and dead fish but mostly pellets

oh and the ocasional yabby and cricket
