I like the dorsal pattern on them, though I imagine it looks better without the flash. What else are you sporting in there, or is it just the two geo's growing out?

Yeah the darker pictures (farther away from flash) show the true colors.

They are in with the crassi's, a BN pleco and this morning I added a 1/2" RTM that is a lone survivor from a tank I shut down this morning. I will drop it off at an LFS next week unless someone wants it free. Once everyone is moved to the new tanks I may have at a dwarf creni pair in this tank or leave as an extra fry tank, I'm not sure yet.

Hmmmm ... the only one I can think of that doesn't have that show that only as a stress coloration off the top of my head is .sp Xingu ... and if that's what they are, I'll be insanely jealous.

Nope, I am probably just wrong on memory. (that happens a lot). Here is a pic I just snapped of the sax type pair in the 300 gallon. I am shutting down that tank too so I will have better pics of these guys soon in their new tank.

I didn't even have the chance to dial in lights or settings, just some quickies.

Great spangling on that male!!!! If you are shutting down the tank, are you keeping the pikes?

I thought the same on the spangling. The caudal pattern is to die for. The female is bright pink but much less spangling on the flanks.

Yes i am keeping them, they are going in the 120 gallon the RTM pair was in previously. I am redoing that tank and may add the leuco school with them instead of the ray pup tank. I am undecided because I don't think I trust these two pikes in the ray pup tank.

I think the dwarf pikes that you saw at Wet Spot were C. compressiceps. They have yellow fins and a striped pattern. I know they had them in stock for quite a while because that's where mine came from. Now they're off the list and sveni are there, which are also striped as juvies but they don't stay small.

The compressiceps are really rough on each other for their small size, so be sure they have plenty of hiding spots. I got four and they massacred each other in a 55. The next time I think I'm thinking about ordering those, I'll just wad up $100 and flush it down the toilet. :(

I think the next time I try them, I might end up treating them like sup'd up mbuna ... massive overcrowding with even more massive rocks and pvc pipes. They are brutal to each other.
