SAVE $$$ AT DOLLAR STORE, WAL MART FOR AQUARIUM SUPPLIES

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Im going to go look for that slate rock. Thanx.

Pythons are craaazy cheap at my local Walmart compared to my LFS. My LFS has always been expensive (especially on fish, but they are A++ quality), but it's like $67 for the Python that I needed, and at Walmart, a 25 footer was only $15.99. That's why I have it now. ^^ I also get most of my food at walmart, since ours just started carrying most all of the Hikari foods, except for the sinking formulas.

Home Depot of course, Sand for $3 for 50lbs, gravel is $2 for 50lbs.

Michaels I recently discovered has a good amount of silk plants that are very useable in the aquarium, as does most dollar stores.

For larger rocks, and slate, rock quarrys are paradise. They usually sell rocks by the TON, so if you just take out a couple handfuls of rocks, they rarely charge you more than $5 if they even charge you at all.

Local Auctions- Picked up a 55 gallon Tank, 5 gallon bucket of rocks, 2 hob filters, 200 feet of air line, 5 air pumps, 2 extra large air stone, 15 plants, and a python. I got it all for $20.00.

I have also bought a 30 gallon tank for $10.00, many 10 gallons for $5 or less.

Just check them out you will be suprised.

Python- i got a head from my lfs for $5.00 and bought 20 feet of hose from the local hardware store for $4.00 so $9.00 for a 20 foot python.

Craigslist....

Pretty much every fish thing I have comes from CL.

Great deals.

For tanks, can't beat Craigslist.

If you want to save on bigger items...use product search engines such as bizrate then coupon code websites. For example...i just picked up an AC110 shipped for $40 off dr. f+s. Bizrate brought the filter up on the site cheaper than if you would go through the main page, then add the coupon code for 15% off found on some site via google. Simple and effective.

Here in Auztralia, we dont have a WalMart or home depot, just got Bunnings which is the biggest hardware store and pretty much lots of little cheapie stores that dont carry much. The occasional supermarket will carry goldfish flakes that you would never dare to feed.

pond melafix treats1600 gallons for the same price as reg. melafix and it treats 400 gallons
pond stress coat, pond pimafix, pond algae destroyer ect roughly the same price but treats so much more
