So anyways rough week for both me and my poor rays. Got em Friday night and after acclimating on a drip for a few hrs they went into my 500g. It was a breeding pair both over 18" diameter.

Sat night I lost power from the storm.

Sunday night I got power back but now my jbj trutemp 1000w heater is completely nuts:nilly: temp is 66

New heaters Monday and a big wc with some warmer water and got the temp up to like 77

Tuesday I got pics of my female(below) who got sores on her back? They are like blisters that pop and then shed off? They are her skin color black or white if the blister was on a spot. Male is unaffected.

Weds she looks much better almost all blisters are coming off her back. Weds night my male started to get them.

Thursday she looked perfect and eating well and swimming all around while he is looking worse. I added salt, raised temp to 82. Thurs night I added pimafix.

Came home tonight and he's dead. She looks okay but should i be worried? Am I doing the right thing here? What else can I do? I did a few more wc during the week to try to help, but wasn't getting anywhere. I had this post in the freshwater disease but got no responses so I want to see what you guys think.

Ps. Can someone check my threads and attach the pics? Idk how to from my iPad.

O and Water is 0,0,<10ppm with ph 6.5-6.8. My first rays and I don't want to lose my female too!

Here are the pictures from your other thread. Never seen anything like that.

How long was your tank set up? Wild gars? Does anything come out of the spots? Is it possible there is a parasite in the sand causing the boils as it possibly digs into the skin lays eggs and makes it pop? How low did the water temp get. Stick your hand in the tank and make sure there isnt stray current from your heaters as well.

water is sure Cloudy you are sure on the readings i have not seen these blisters before but i would go straight to saying ammonia burns not parasite if you lost power for how long ??? did you lose the cycle ?????Much more cloudy then last week when ya got em...

Pretty odd looking. Nothing in the tank could have done that? Could they be wounds of some kind?

Obviously filter was unharmed despite temp fluctuation if none of the parameters changed?

Where are the heaters?

Sorry for your loss man :(

Sorry for you loss , it is ammonia burns , need to do wc 40% at some salt . If u see the female get better try to take sand out one at the time , all bacteria hide under the sand ,

I used prime with my water changes and the tank is cloudy because I was doing w wc. The top view is during, the ones of her are after I just turned on my reeflo hammerhead.
Some things I thought were odd, they were totally round blisters and they would pop and they would come off and you can't even see where was affected just after. Seemed very quickly moving and dieing as I've seen one ray get really bad and get well in a few days. I don't think ammonia did this
