  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just went threw this with a ray i imported from over seas the water I'n the bag had ammonia off the charts. I accumated the fish quick as possible and threw him I'n his tank next day notice all these white spots . I am thinking its ammonia burn maybe from the bag fro
Shipping. Add good amount of salt and make ur water perfect and should get better. Of the ray is Eatting i am sure it will survive. Good luck

Ya last night she ate salmon and scallops. It was weird because it didn't show until prob 3 days then bam she was bad and I know my water is very good or my API test kit is bad. I would be surprised if it is ammonia since it formed random bubbles on just their back? Thanks for the input though if it was ammonia, she will be ok now

And the tank has been running over 6 months and the sand is only maybe 2 inches thick but she movedALL of the sand to the middle to make a 6" deep sand bar lol

Glad to hear she ate well for ya hope it turns out well...

So if it was ammonia did it happen in the tank or during transport to the tank?

The tank may have been up and going for 6 months but was the bio ready for 2 monster rays?

If she's eating salmon she obviously isn't feeling too finicky when it comes to food......

That's the million doller Question for sure !!!!;)

Bryan, tell us about thier trip from Jim's tank to yours......

oook Lets read this...

Ur power went out for 24hrs.... If you didnt have a generator or something powering the filtration then your BB died off. Your water changes are keeping the ammonia down, but when your not checking the water params then you could actually be having ammonia spikes which in turn can affect the rays that way. then you do another water change and get the ammonia back down. If you ask me if your tank filter was not running for 24hrs, then you lost your benificial bacteria, and now you need to recycle your tank. I would get Seachem Stability. and what else is in your 500gal tank?! if there wasnt much in there and you dumped those monster hen's in there, then your whole system might have crashed bc of their bioload which turned it into a mini cycle, but then your power went out, so you get hit with a double whammy.

sorry bud

Sorry for ur loss again, but this irritates me, bc if jimr coulda shipped, I woulda taken this pair, and now one is dead and the other isn't doing so good.
