Saw this just now on craigslist...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What... maybe he had them all in the 10 to move them or something?

I'm so confused. If I get no address by tomorrow I might tell him no deal even though I need those corries and tank. This is weirding me out now.

maybe dude it just seemed unlikely to me that they're was another guy in same area with the same fish. the only thing was he seemed like a very responsible fish keeper, had two ex-cichlasoma altromaculatums in a tank alone and was planted, anyway good luck. if you get them and they are altromaculatums send a picture!!

im lucky to not have dogs like that!!
The same guy used to have an Akita. He would allow that one to roam the yard freely and it would manage to get the gate open, get out and roam the neighborhood until the owner came out to get it.Luckily the Akita was not as aggressive as the Cane Corso is or someone would be missing a leg.

I always think its so weird when people are intimidated by my dogs, because I know that if they knew them they would feel dumb, but then again some people don't like dogs

People are easily intimidated by big barking dogs, back when we owned a car lot we let two pit bulls out each night, they were sweet, but we didn't tell anyone that,we had to quit doing that after someone shot the dogs to get a couple stereos(the dogs survived, people are terrible a lot of the time)

I love dogs, especially mine but I do not trust any large dogs that happen to be running around unattended. What kind do you have?

If he gets back to me tomorrow I will see if he still hasn't sold them yet, maybe I can get a discount if he really wants them gone haha. Hopefully they won't get too agressive for my 90 or I may have to convince the fiance to help buy me a whole nother huge tank with his christmas bonus. I do need to thin some more stock from the 90 anyway though, I can spare a male convict, my smaller breeding pair of convicts which have failed to be good parents so far, and my jewels.

Also in almost every case I have seen of an agressive dog it's because the owner mistreated it. I got attacked when little by one and most still make me nervous unless I know the owner and the dog is well behaved.

cool, hope you get them, I was wanting to get them they look really cool but so busy with just maintaining and switching tanks that I didnt have time to go get. I'm probably going to sell my 90 sometime soon! thinking about going with one without a sump.

Hmm. Keep us posted when ya sell that thing.

All this reminds me I need to post some stuff in the marketplace on here. Got some big heavy aquascaping rocks from when I got the tank taking up patio space, and I have to get rid of those extra convicts at least since big daddy convict only tolerates his mate and some of the other fish going by his oh so precious flowerpot and fry.

Dogs are smart animal and can sense your fears and more likely escalate an aggressive behave toward you, sound odd but I usually do eyes contact to an unknown dogs and show them "You better don't try to mess with me or I'll beat you up Asian style :p work all the time". hahaha Friends and family something talk about their dogs so well behave around me LOL

I picked them all up for 25 bucks flat! The 10 he gave me came with all of his extra equipment too! He actually seemed like a pretty nice guy. I think he must have sold his bigger tank or just wanted the fish gone or something. Apparently he got them both at aquatic warehouse for 30 bucks a pop at 1" long! They are both about 6.5" now. Unfortunately the female one seems to be a bit beat up. He said that when he moved them into the 10 the male got agressive hence the divider. A few scales are missing and her fins are a bit ratty looking but salt should help tomorrow. I don't want to add anything except stress coat tonight just in case they can't handle the change. I got the pleco and corries too. Hopefully I can identify that pleco because it looks very pricey and I may just keep him if he won't get 3 feet long. Both corries are bronze, one appears to be missing an eyeball but he swims ok. Both of their barbels look fine after being on regular gravel.

The goldfish are 5 small commons, one looks like it has a swim bladder issue/injury and one is deformed/dying, unfortunately I don't want to waste clove oil on them or whop them on the head if I can avoid it, so I will see if they recover, maybe it's just stress. The bucket he gave me wasn't the most secure so they were splashed a bit in traffic. Oh and there was 2 rosy red minnows, both died while I brought them home though. They must have been all feeders for the cichlids but are a little too big. Most are about 2".

I will make a separate thread about them all soon with good pics, right now I need a break from lifting buckets and equipment and to let the fish adjust a bit more. Hope to god I don't lose that female overnight though, she will be pricey to replace haha. They seem a bit more active thankfully. I forgot to mention that the water they were in in that bucket was down to the low 60's at least! Maybe he shut the heater off for the goldfish or something.

:)
