Scaleless reptiles

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I though that it was genetic as well. And I am not sure how I feel on the scaleless herps. They are just kind of odd...

It's like a a hairless chihuahua...just doesn't look right.

I think it looks pretty awesome.
As long as it doesn't actually hurt the animals.

I assume it must hamper the animals movement, and make things much more sensitive to discomfort...

As far as I know, it doesnt hurt or affect the animals in any way. The keepers usually just keep a careful eye on shedding and thats about it. I guess sharp objects would also be kept out of the way, but hopefully you would do that with any animal anyway.

I like how some look, but I have to also say that the scales serve many purposes that the snake should not be without for our pleasure.Grip,to feel secure for better movement and for climbing.Protection, from temps, bugs, light, soiled substrates, rough textured anything. From other animals.I hope ppl dont go nuts with this and loose focus on needing to keep what we got already solid and progressing.

Some have problems, some don't............Being Scaleless doesn't hamper any of their abilities or make them more sensitive. Locomotion is the same. People act like these things are skinless and will fall apart if you fart wrong, but that's not the case. No different than Fish - Some have Scales, some don't. Whether it's natural or un..........

It just seems to go against everything I have ever learned about reptiles...... seems like it would hinder survival in many ways. And personally, I don't like the way they look
