scarlet pleco

Yes that is an L091 three beacon pleco without a doubt. Ullopincrate your pic is not an L-25 but an L-24. Very similiar impossible to find and gets a little smaller than an L-25. L-24 is called cactus pleco and is more green than scarlet which is darker. All three very cool plecos and if it is worth it to you you didn't overpay. I paid 300 bills for a 12 inch scarlet a few years ago. Enjoy the pleco and feed him some salad shrimp and watch him go nuts.

thats the 3 beacon pleco i believe

89.99 that's pretty high I get my Rubbe Lip Pleco for only $4 i know they arent gorgeous but they do the job and you cant overlook their beauty, the regular plecos you see such as Rubber lip, sailfin, albino, BN they have their own kind of beauty. :)

3 Beacon pleco like others said.

Could even be a male to due to the high dorsal.

Here's a pic of mines, dorsal don't look to be as high as yours. I paid $60 for mines.

its a nice fish no doubt about it..... if u like it then the high price doesnt matter.. just know in the future for reference that it doesnt cost that much...

Exotic pleco are kinda weird.. theres the semi rare price range from 15-40 bucks and then theres the SUPER RARE range going from 200-700 or 1000 usually zebra pleco, to huge blue eye ....

my stepson has one he call it 3 bean l-91 Leporacanthious sp cant spell but its close lol

Nice find 2songbirds. It is L-091 as already said. I paid $60 for mine at about 4" at my lfs. Shy and territorial creature. Mine will only come out to feed at night. I suggest moon lights for your viewing pleasure;)

at 4" 89.99 is a steal it is agreat fish. they can be a little aggressive, from what I've seen never personally owned one but a friend has, so watch smaller tank mates if you have any.

wow, thanks guys for all the responses!! My lfs does run a bit higher than average as they are the only one in the southern western pa that sells more than just tetras and goldfish :irked: but regardless, I think he was worth the price tag

As for personality...let me tell you he's VERY boisterous and territorial. He's kept in the same tank as my flowerhorn, who doesn't bother anyone, and puts her to shame!!

I'm almost ashamed to say this, but here it goes. I bought last weekend my albino 3 inch polypterus a new friend, a regular poly senegal. Very small, less than 2 inches. Well, he went and tried going in the 3 beacon's cave, and well,,,,,got his head sucked out....literally. There was nothing I could do. That's the only fish the pleco bothered. The poly didn't budge and therefore faced the consequences....

there, it's out.... I have a beast on my hands.....and I love it!!!

Just a heads up....... If you ever have to catch him be careful. Mine has a lot of odontal growth and I have to catch him by hand because he'll get stuck in the net.
