Thanks man this is very interesting.
So from my research online before I got these guys, I saw that they are full marine, or had to go into full marine sooner rather than later. If the highest ovulation rate occurred at 25ppt, would this mean that they prefer lower marine salinity? or do you think when they breed they migrate from full marine (say 35ppt), to freshwater, and this lower 25ppt salinity is what stimulates egg production?
So their health isn't much effected by higher salinity (maybe its better at full marine), but only for breeding one is advised to lower it?
Not that I want to breed them, just wondering. I like to keep the tank at the highest possible salinity as its easier to keep the nitrates low.
