+1 i love neons in small tanks they add color and movement!

As others say neons, but most tetras. You could easily fit 10-12. Be aware that they're fragile fish, I wouldn't add them in an aquarium that wasn't already established. Even with daily water changes on an uncycled tank, you'll lose more than half. I've tried, before I knew better. Unfortunately LFS had told me they were great beginner fish.

I'd have to disagree with everyone who says neons.
I have some in my tank and they're always scattered. I do catch them schooling sometimes, but if you want fish that tightly school, in my experience, go with rummynose tetras.

I have 12 neon tetras in my 55g community tank i just set up and i love them. Small but nice color and stay together.

Well I think I'm gonna give the rummy nose a try I have neons in my 10g but read on other treads that rummy nose are pretty good schooling fish. Thanks for suggestions

Bloodfin tetras are good schooling fish too.
