I tried to get a good pic but the stingray spooked when I walked down to it. Here is one of the freshwater atlantic rays in the pond.

Anyhow I have a few questions...
Were these Pbass all confirmed pairs before you put them in the pond? Are they all wild caught to start with??
If a person had 8-12 Ocell from a LFS do you think there would be any chance of the same thing happening?
Not that i have the means to try it (yet) ... but do you think the reason they spawn is because they are in a large body of water? Do you think the same thing could be replicated in a large indoor pool/pond setup? Or does it have to be a more natural body of water??
Also, since I live in the Nothern US, if I had an outdoor pond and lots of Pbass to stock it, do you think they would breed in the summer, and then be brought back indoors for the winter??

Here are some more pics of the peacocks. I pulled 2 spawns this week. And found another pair swimming around with 1/2" fry.

Im getting excited! I threw 3 more breeder size females in their and the remainder males I had are already with them, showing dominace. I have a total of 10 pairs now, and Im finished stocking with breeding stock. The new pairs will be spawning in 2 weeks tops. My first batches of eggs should start hatching on 4/16 - 4/18/09. I will keep all of you posted. I have 5 pairs of spangeled occel and 5 pairs of regular occel.
