I defentaly dont count them. I count the babies when they sell, so I know close to how many eggs by how many i sell. I keep one spawn per vatt. So after I catch a vatt up, I know how many fish were in that vatt from the paperwork. Paper work tells me everything.

You said that spawn did not make it, right. So you did not sell them, so in that case the 3000 would be a guess. Right?

The 3000 is an estimated guess. Its a pretty close estimate. I can compare spawns from spawns in the past that we did grow up an sell. This one was one of the larger spawns. And some of the larger spawns last year produced 2000-3000 babies ea.

I found my first oscar spawn today. Shortly after that I seen one of my other pairs of oscar swimming around with a ball of fry, i scooped up as many as I could maybe 100. All in which are 1/2"-3/4" in size, the spawn I will collect tomorrow, they were not finished laying the eggs yet. I also found another occellaris spawn, very productive week in the pond!
