Screw you Electricity!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Walmart sells em, Most commonly used in minnow buckets. About 7 bucks a pop.

Happened to me last month. Stupid construction workers were digging out the curb in front of my house and cut through the power line. Seriously dont know how. Lost power about 5 times that day for around an hour a time, blew up my glass heater in the process.

Not quite sure why we lost power but the power company was working around the block from me to fix it I think a transformer might have just went

Thanks for the offer Trev, I had my dad on stand by if I needed his generator. I have been through a few power outages ( hence the already having battery operated pumps) and I don't really start to worry until it get to 10-12 hours.

The way I have my fx5 setup I use the extra quick adapter hooked to a garden hose to empty my tank for water changes. So I just let water siphon through and added warm water to the tank like I was doing several small water changes to keep the tank at temp and the filter seeded.

I have come a long way since my first power outage lol (blowing in the tank with straws).

sorry to here, i live in the country so i lost power a few time this year. i feel ur pain. lol its stressfull. i stayed home sent kids an wife to do stuff. i froze my butt off but got the wood burning stove going heated some water, got my battery air pumps an stayed and watched my fish tell it came back on lol. when the power comes on a huge weight is lifted lol. glad to see all the fish are fine

Get to work pal!

ya, been worried about that myself. Already have battery backup air pumps and looking into getting a generator just for the tanks. One good thing is I live rt off the square, so when the power goes out around here, my area is usually the first to come back on..

Glad they are ok and you didnt have any problems..

sorry to blow up your thread asking but I searched and couldn't find where to buy those battery backup airpumps...
they sound like the $10 lifesaver lol
