Scrubbies!!! number crunchers look

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
not useless, but far less effective for sure. bacteria will grow on any surface but the higher oxygen levels of a drip through are much more effective.

Yeah you can't really have too much biomedia, if you have the space shove some more crap in (scrubbies, rings, matrix, whatever). Just for more reference if I had scrubbies only in my fx5 it would be 36, 12 per basket. Right now I only have 1 with scrubbies though.

I mix the balls with the scrubbies and make use of all the gaps inbetween.

This is a pic of one of the layers from my diy 55 gallon sump, not my 170 sump. (before I sold them)

These are some of my filter threads. They should help give you some ideas.
All of them involve scrubbies.

haha must say i love the builds. I have a question for you though. Do you think my 55 gallon sump should have a direct flow of water to the dripplate , or and overflow to the drip plate. I hope you understand what i mean. Keep in mind i need room for a 1,200 gallon pump submergable becauase i dont know how to hook up the other ones. I also need room for my big 300gallon skimmer. I would like to maximize bio area though , and possible have a filter sock. I dont know which methood of the 55 would work best though. I like the overflow to the drip plate idea , like you had on your reef , so i could do a filter sock.

and lmao the talk of scrubbies never get old. I really dont understand it but i get really gitty playing with scrubbies and organizing them. Its stupid but does anyone else get this? Bio balls are not half as fun
