Sea snake?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i doubt they will be legal in CA, but there are some non poisonous species of sea snakes, and there have been reports of small sea snakes coming in shipments of liverock.

They are very placid, I'd rather keep these than something like a king cobra Miguel.

the King Cobra you can confine better than a sea snake, I believe , davo..in a tank there are always openings, pipings, tings that need to get fixed with your hands.....not in a hot snake enclosure, I think...

would rather keep a King Cobra then a sea snake, King Cobras are VERY, very smart snakes, I once heard a story of a place in India were they milked king cobras, and when a new cobra was introduced by a keeper the oldest/older cobras would protect the keeper from the newly introduced cobra. King Cobras are quick to realize there keepers and if kept at a young age, I believe they make pretty good captives, althought i have not had one, fro what I am told, I made an assumption.

think that is one of Al Coritz stories...
I don't like the clever snakes lol. They will more readily strike at you. A snake that can kill you is a snake that can kill you. I don't start drawing the line at levels of toxicity after that really, I think you are past it then and are simply into the realms of temprament, ease of keeping and what you like. I agree Miguel... to a degree. Not something to just plop in an aquarium, but I wouldn't see it as a too difficult task to make it escape proof if you took the precautions. Then again, find me any snake that isn't an escape artist :)

Hmm. How big would the set up need to be?
I assume I sould basically escape proof the tank fit for an octopus?

Lol, yeah davo its an Al Coritz story. That guy is awesome, i have watched all of his vids on youtube...

There is always duct-taping it... how the hot herp veterans do it...
