Seachem has a new water conditioner that's "better" than Prime

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I posted a link to igopro earlier in this discussion, and one doesn't have to feel that they have to buy a massive container, they start at 50 grams.

I buy in bulk (4kg) as like most things it becomes more cost effective at the larger sizes, and one container lasts me years. 4kg for $72.99 is a smoking deal.

Just an update, I did purchase some alpha a while back because of this thread like I said I would and it's been working great. Just like Prime but I use less. It does smell just as bad though. ;) I may go the Safe route in the future, but I'm looking at alternatives at the moment for an auto water change system. :)

Up until recently I only used Microbe-Lift products for everything and it worked great, no smell and chemical free. The only issue I had is when they started adding ammonia to the tap water then my Microbe-Lift Dechlorinator just wasn't cutting it, so I have to use Prime until I can find a better alternative. I do have ML ammonia remover but it's only small bottle and it can't remove all the ammonia unless I double dose it. I heard they do have an heavy duty version that is for higher amounts of ammonia but no place sells it. I have my usual place that sells most ML products, all but that one I need to remove ammonia. Even though prime works, I still would rather not use it mainly because 1. it's a chemical and 2. the marketing hypes claims to remove ammonia but really it only makes it temporarily safe, sorry but that's not good enough for my aquarium. Microbe-Lift imo is by far the best water conditioner products period, they are just hard to find products. I really miss using ML, it was a joy to work with and they have a solution for every aquarium need. I may beg for the online store to carry the item I need. I try to buy the 16 oz because they last longer.
