Seachem Prime Vs. Kordon Water Conditioners

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've used both Amquel and Prime......I going to stick with Prime because a smaller bottle can treat more gallons than the same size Amquel and its cheaper.

I like red labels and transformers... If it's good enough to be named after Optimus, it's good enough for me!

I know they roughly do the same but I also like the fact that since it's concentrated it takes up less room under your tank.

I use Novaqua because it doesn't sequester Nitrite or Nitrates as I run heavily planted most of the time and removing those means adding more chems.

But between amquel and prime, Prime is the better choice. More concentrated, lasts longer per purchase.

my city water is very bad for chemicals. When I kept fish awhile back and would do water changes I would lose fish. When I switched to Prime .. never lost a fish to water changes.

Prime man here

How many gallons of tanks do you have in total Tcarswell? I over-dose Prime and I think my 250mL bottle will last quite awhile :D (125g).
I double dose (there are occasional water ammonia spikes in my tap) and I have 6 tanks currently. Because my tap water has 20-40 ppm nitrate from the tap I also do two 50% water changes a week on each tank.

Hmmm...

6 tanks + 50% wc on each twice a week = you poor bastard :grinno:
lol 6 tanks + 50% WC twice a week = python lol :headbang2 thank god for the almighty python

prime is best, imo
1 ml prime treats 10 gallons
amquel
5 ml treats 10 gallons.
