Hi there,

Been working on cycling my 75 G for past week (total of 8days). no luck

Dosing with Seachem stability as required, I shake the bottle heavily before each capful.

todays readings:

Ammona: .50ppm - 1ppm
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0

NOTE: i have also added some bio media from established tank (fluval bio) to help further.

lastly, over the weekend I got my eheim 2217 repaired and up and running on the tank - thinking the added bio media in the canister would help.

Did you even dose ammonia?

No dosing of ammonia... tap water is ~.50ppm

Upon reading the forums previously for Seachem stability. Members have reported the bottle works.

not sure. did you add water conditioner? maybe the tap water in your area has high amounts of chloramine and such....maybe it's effecting bacterial growth. just a guess.

I just recently cycled my 90 gal in roughly 10 days. I used Stability and Prime. I added fish within the first week. I also did about 5 water changes in the first 2 weeks. I am going to shoot for once a week water changes from here on out.

Added PRIME when adding initial water, and also added a little more at a later date.

No water changes as of yet, waiting for tank to cycle - from there will do a 35% change. I always condition the tap water with PRIME before adding to tank.

I would put in some cycling fish like 5-6tetras OR 3 silver dollars OR a dozen zebra danios to help cycle the tank if you're using Stability. This way, the fish provide ammonia for your bacteria to live off of. These fish should not be harmed during the cycling process if you're using something like Stability. I'm doing something similar in my 300 gallon aquarium. I used Nutrafin Cycle last week and put 3 silver dollars in the tank. Things went well, so I did a 50% water change today and added 2 other fish while dosing the tank with Stability this week instead of Nutrafin Cycle.

No fish in tank yet. they'll be here later in week - should be enough time.

will dose tank with PRIME to detoxify any ammonia present. I'll pick-up another bottle of stability tomorrow and continue to dose.

If there are no fish in the tank, and you aren't adding ammonia, there is nothing to "cycle." That is why the stability isn't working. The bacteria need a constant supply of ammonia (through either fish or added ammonia) in order to grow.
Adding stability to a tank full of water is money down the drain.
