Seachem stability on 75g

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When you do your nitrAte test, be sure you are reading the full directions. It's different than "water, dropper wait read" You have to shake the bottle #2 for 30 seconds, violently to break up the crystals.

You have to combine water +bottle#1 then add the drops from shaken bottle #2, after you do this, you have to shake the final combination for 60 seconds, wait 5 minutes then read it against the card.

I would put some of that RO waste water in there, but make sure you do a VERY large water change before you add your fish, since the waste water is highly concentrated wastes/yuckiness.

@Laticauda - Thanks for the info.

That is exactly how I do it. =). Last night did a small water change and added RO waste water.

I'll check water params. later and then make sure to do water change before adding fish.

your tank will NOT cycle or show any signs of ammonia without any fish in there (basically your waisting stability as expensive as it is) I used it for 7 days no issues what so ever added fish in the 1st day w/ brand new water YES brand new water. I suggest adding some fish immediately and then start your 7 day process all over again.

You MUST have fish in there creating ammonia in order to feed and grow beneficial bacteria !!! NO ammonia = NO beneficial bacteria.

hope that helps

Ammonia is not exclusive to fish waste, the idea that a tank cannot be cycled without fish is outdated and has been proven wrong so many times. A fishless cycle is cheaper - a bottle of ammonia, enough to cycle dozens of tanks costs less than the fish you would buy to cycle one, easier - no water changes needed untill the cycle is complete and you control the ammonia level from day one, and it does not involve needless stress/injury to any fish, after all, we are fish 'keepers' and supposedly care about the health of our fish.

That's like saying you can't breath without an oxygen mask on.
