If there are no fish in the tank, and you aren't adding ammonia, there is nothing to "cycle." That is why the stability isn't working. The bacteria need a constant supply of ammonia (through either fish or added ammonia) in order to grow.
Adding stability to a tank full of water is money down the drain.

This..... True. Must have a constant ammonia source. Add some fish

Just been following the bottles instructions and other peoples results using the product.

I have also added some bio media from established tank - not much but a few fluval bio-max noodles.

I will pick-up another bottle of stability along with small ammonia from hardware store.. Im sure things will be fine or work out, fish will be here later this week and push the tank to cycle - will be dosing with PRIME.

Here is look @ water params today. Ammonia & Nitrates.

PH 8.4
Ammonia .50 - 1ppm
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate 0??

Ideally you need between 2ppm and 4ppm of ammonia to kick start the cycle. Easiest and cheapest way is to just add bottled ammonia (Ace hardware sell their own brand in the cleaning/janitorial supplies section). Going by my readings when I cycled my 40g breeder (8 days to complete with stability) a capfull will give you 2-3ppm. Check daily and when it drops add a half capfull, keep repeating untill you get the Nitrite spike and fall which should coincide with ammonia dropping, when they're both at 0 your tank is cycled, big water change to bring the nitrates down and you're all set. You get a fully cycled tank with no stressed/injured/dead fish (and save some money at the same time cos you didn't buy the 'hardy' fish to use as cannon fodder!).

Like I said without a steady ammonia source you cannot cycle a tank. The directions of stability say to add fish first, you can also use ammonia from a bottle. Personally I just add fish right away (full tank stock) and monitor the ammonia and nitrite levels, and add prime or do a water change if needed, but I have a lot of experience with the product and cycling tanks in general--cycling fishless is always safer.

For the record, I've cycled probably about a dozen tanks with stability. It's worked a full cycle every time within 14 days.

Make sure the ammonia has no additives... If you shake it and it foams up, it's no good.

Let me help you understand. Stability DO NOT actually cycle the tank. Ammonia or Fish producing the ammonia is the one doing the cycling. Stability just aid in the cycling of the tank. Do your normal fish/fishless cycling and dose stability at the same time. By adding Stability, the bacteria in the bottle would metabolise the ammonia in the tank and start to colonise your filter media and substrate. If you did not add stability while cycling, the same thing would occur, just at a slower rate. So the purpose of Stability is to accelerate this cycling process by directly adding bacteria into the tank.

Hopes this helps :)

=) Awesome guys. thank you very much for the input, make me better understand to my stupidity?

Anyways. my RO/DI Reject water has an ammonia reading of 7ppm+... anyone think it would be good idea to use this water to add to the tank to help jump ammonia in there? (rather than buying bottle). Use what I have already eh?

If not, ill get a bottle of ammonia tonight and dose tank.. Although I probably dont even need to since the fish will be here Thursday afternoon, I can always just continue to dose with prime / stability and do water change(s) as needed - what others have stated.

btw. tested water parms this morning.

ammonia looks like it dropped? showing a ~.25ppm the Nitrate is not exactly a bright yellow, but has an orange hue to it.

Late last night i squeezed the pre-filter sponge from established tank into the 75 (again) - I did this a week ago.

Where's those "expert" when needed..
What I did was just add fish but make sure to monitor ur water parameter dailiy, that way u will find out when u need WC too, instead of guestimate "time"
