Secret for crystal clear water

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am talking about a new tank. That the cycle was just ending. Not a overstocked established tank which your filters are well established. UV is not recommended during a cycle. If you are talking about "putting a bandage on a bullet wound" your tank should be clear with out a UV. I f you want to talk about carbon--- Fill up a white bucket with water from a tank using carbon and a bucket not using carbon. Anyone can see right away the obvious difference. I was just recommending a natural product thats been around longer then us. I did not mean to offend anyone or to make this an argumentative issue.

Yes it probably was a bacteria bloom, that was related to the cycle. However, the point being the water never cleared up on its own. Anyway, I was just letting you all MFK members know ACUREL F worked for me and may work for others. Its made from all natural extracts and will not harm your fish. Try some if your tank is not crystal clear. You may be surprised. Its fairly inexpensive.

Not trying to come at you.. if it works for you then cool.

But earlier you said it was an expensive product, then said it was inexpensive.

Also i think most members wouldnt be comfortable constantly using and adative to achieve clear water. Proper mechanical and biological filtration is enough.
I get that you used to to jumps start your cycle but id be weary of having to redose with a product of this nature

I am not trying to come at you. But please read more carefully. The ACUREL F is inexpensive. The Turbo Boost is the one that is expensive. Nobody has said to " constantly use the adative". Again---- This was used in such a way on a new tank set up. You guys can comment on this all you like furthermore the advanced fish keeper knows exactly what I am talking about. Good Grief ! YOU GOT TO LOL---

So, anyone that doesn't agree with your view point is obviously not an advance fish keeper? So after 30+ years of fish keeping experience, I'm still just a hack?

Just because people whom have chimed in don't agree with you doesn't mean they are "attacking" you. If you don't want any opinions, you should state it as so on your original post.

Maybe next time just be a little more subtle about a product you like. And from my years in fish keeping I've learned there's really no shortcut for a cycle. Again in my experience. Some products May speed it up some . But time and a couple gold fishes ...

acurel f is cheap and makes the water clear got it.

I'll stick to established bio and ample mech along with dosing probiotics and prime during wcs.

I think that some of you missed what the OP was recommending, which to me appears to be a form of probiotic bacteria, something that I have also personally recommended here on MFK.

I also have a sticky on this subject. Some of you might want to check it out, and of course some of you already have, and are using similar probiotic products.

To the OP - here's a link to my write up on the use of probiotics in aquaculture.

Same stuff, just a lot cheaper than buying similar products that are sold at your LFS.

Precisely my thought. No one who personally likes a product talks like that. It's more like I like this product and it worked for me and even than you don't make a thread about it unless you have questions.

I think it's more the way he came on about it and less about the actual product . Acting like its some unheard of miracle product that will even cure erectal dysfunction.
