Seeking for Pangasius conchophilus care information

Haven't post for a very long time, I bought a pangasius conchophilus for RM 10 (about 2 usd) 2 weeks ago, fed with sega's sinking pellets, had signs of eating in front of me last week, but it is more shy than any pangasius species like P. sanitwongsei and only saw this sign for 2 days. Not really willing to eat and always laying under the tank, just kept him with one P.sanitwongsei very smaller than him.If you know their habits and diet pls let me know

I find that many pangasius seem to prefer plant material and flake food to things like fish, mussel or bloodworm.
Although the name of this fish refers to a diet of shellfish, so I would be trying prawns, but still trying good quality flake and spirulina flake.
Nice find, a fish I have never seen in the uk.

I have never met this fish in our hobby, not first hand nor via a report of a peer. You are in position to teach us all about this fish. Chances are, you won't find anyone else to tell you anything.

Tried some shrimp meats, but he doesn't seem interested only eating sinking pellets

The seller says that the P.conchophilus is sensitive to sudden water changes, I often use 1 week water while doing water changes. They have strong disease resistance and will not catch ich easily like Paroon sharks

Sorry for your loss, however If you had him in a seperate tank then maybe best to keep that tank running and cycled properly before putting any more fish in as seems to be a recurring theme.

I keep them with a paroon not longer than 2 cm and with some feeder fishes, I found that the a feeder fish blocked my filter and causing many ammonia in the water. I wake up and find all the feeder fishes and the P. conchophilus dead but the paroon is still living, i already send my paroon to the fish shop I bought, they take good care of my fishes.

Thank you for the honest report. We need these badly in our hobby, on this site, etc. It is most prudent at the first sign of trouble to measure the basic water parameters immediately, especially ammonia+ammonium, nitrite, nitrate, pH, temp. I am glad you found your problem. Sorry I have been too busy to answer your PMs timely.

For those who don't know, the feeder fish in the tank had a die off.

I don't quite understand transferring the paroon back to the fish shop because I've never encountered such practice.

I bought the paroon from the fish shop, I bought all of my fish here after they opened here so the boss of the fish shop always give me offers when i buy fishes from him, he also take good care of my fish when they are sick
