ok so this is the 2nd time i have seen a death like this. I had channel catfish basically seizure to death and now i have lost a fire eel and it is doing the same thing. It just looks like its having a seizure. It was swimming out of control and flipped over. The same thing happend to the catfish. Could this be some type of internal parasite? theres no visible signs externally on the fish no fungus or anything that looks abnormal. They were both in a 120g tank. the catfish was 4'' and the eel was about 7''-8''.

The first thing I would do is check the heater. There might be a small charge in the water once in a while. It seems like they are being electrocuted. If the heater is old, I'd buy a new one.

if that was the case wouldnt the other fish be affected? and its really more of out of control swimming than quick jolting movements

i ran out of ammonia and nitrate/ite testers gotta get some tomorrow but i did a water change yesterday and this happened today...maybe the water change did it? i treated the water for 30 min before i put it in

my nitrates did test a little high but could that really cause the fish to do this?
