i have a 55 gallon tank with 2 rainbow cichlids, 2 silver dollars, 2 parrot fish, and 6 other small community fish
One issue you have depends on whether or not the rainbows are, or become, a pair and start to spawn. Same with the parrots , and additionally, if they are red parrots, they will get quite large as someone else indicated. Based on what you've said, I would caution you about adding anything to the tank; you may already have fish that will exceed the tank's capacity. Were the parrots not there, I'd suggest Honduran red points as a possibility, but that would assume no pairs form.

Someone else suggested clown loach, but they eventually grow large (12"), really need to be in small packs (3-5), and make short work of any food that hits the bottom - Your other fish either need to feed from the top or on the way down, because they ain't getting food from the bottom!

Again, imo your best bet is rainbows with hrp, but no pairs. Then fill in with colorful dithers (swordtails for example). Gives you yellow, blue, red colorations in the tank.

Clown loaches are some of the slower growing fishes out there, that's why it's so hard to find any over 5-6" for sell ever.

female JD.

female Gold Saum.

salvini.

I have to disagree with the female gold saum. Mine is 5 inches long and already super aggressive. She almost killed my JD and she beats down all fish in the tank except my Bertha (midavil).

the parrot fish are blood parrot fish, and one of them died. the rainbows are a mated pair. I just got 2 Houndurn red points and 1 blue dolphin and 1 yellow lab fish. i am going to wait and see what happens in the tank for a while. my fish dealer is getting these green cichlids from flordia, and they are suppose to be pretty rare. From what he says that all of the cichlds were in one group name and now all of them moved to differnet group names expect for like 3 of the fish and he can get the one kind of fish thats in that group of 3. i will let u know what they are called the next time i stop there
