So In preperation for all the cichlids I will be adding to my 125g I have been getting myself used to two water changes a week instead of 1 (50% & 70%). This apparently has made my male sen very very frisky he has been constantly nudgeing and following my female like crazy its beutiful to watch they move almost like a ribbon.

however...

My albino sen however is also male... the aggression started with a little chaseing then an occasional nip up till friday night when he grabbed the albino by the tail fin and started trying to death roll him. needless to say the albino is no longer in the tank. He seems fine has a minor tare in his tail fin but the tank he is in is over filtered and very clean. so he should heal fine and free of harrassment.

Do you guys think the aggression will continue if I keep up this water change schedule or will he get bored with it so I can add back the albino...

I tried the low number bichir thing and you just end up with one dominant alpha poly and some other bit up beta poly. Seems like once the number is up at least five then it really calms down. Granted my big endli still nips at some of the polys but I don't see the torn up tails with six like I did when there was only three in the tank.

Was 5 polys in the tank total. 2 sens, albino sen ,del, and gold dust. I think you guys just want me to buy more polys.

Sadly with my over ambitious cichlid plan more is not an option,

Of course we do! ;)

I see the need to talk you into a bigger tank now....

What are you doing with the cichlids?

I would LOVE a bigger tank if your buying :D.... sadly I cannot afford it.

The tank in question is 125g tank it filters 1193 g and hour according to the specs on the 3 filters on it.

Black Diamond substrate, lava rock and driftwood decor, moderately planted (vals, anubias, java fern)

Current stock is:
2 Sens(male / female)
1 Del
1 Gold Dust
2 bn plecos (male /female)
1 Eb acara ( male)
1 Wild caught red hump geo (male) may be leaving he is a prick

what I am adding for cichlids:
2 chocolate cichlids (male/ female)
6 elliots cichlids
3-5 female electric blue acara (depends how many of the 8 babies are female)

All the additions are juveniles now I got them about 3 weeks ago (4 chocolates, 8 eb acara, 6 elliots(thaught was 8 double checked bag was 6)) growing them out till they are not bichir snacks. Once everything is fully grown of course the tank will be quite overstocked and I may hafto dial back to one chocolate and 4 or so total electric blues. I may even try to keep an extra male acara.... dunno yet....

If need be I can move filters around and up the 125 g to 1600 gallons an hour but would need to build some form of flow diffuser possibly in the form of a drip plate.
