Senegal bichir tankmates

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ICurrently have a 180 gallon growout aquarium with two senegal bichirs, I am wondering if i could put some baby peacock bass with them?

Thx

I'm back woooo so in a tank with a sengal bichir a common pleco a high-fin spotted pleco and a peacock eel would silver dollars, angelfish, varied sharks, tiger oscar, and an African featherfin catfish all work please reply thanks

I am guessing most of those would work well depending on the size of the tank... Oscars get ginormous for as common as they are and I know the average aquarium is smaller than a 55 gallon. Featherfin cats seem to be similar to upside down cats only bigger, so I'm guessing there won't be any catfish related swollowing of tank mates.

Well synos like featherfins have tiny mouths. As for the size thing featherfins get much larger than the normal upsidedown cats

Well I was just saying that they probably won't be risky like the larger mouthed cats (red tail) that can gulp fish almost as big as themselves.

Yea. Most synodontis that im aware of live differently to those highly predatory cats

Like stated probably would eliminate Oscar from your list, and plecos are known to suck on bichir's for the slime coat. I personally kept my Senegalus with a Synodontis Angelicus they were fine. If you raise the Featherfin with the Senegalus it should work. Synodontis may have small mouth but by all means will not tolerate being pushed around lol. Btw Redtail Sharks can be a pain in the behind keep your eye on it.
