I'm reading anywhere from 60F up to 90F. So what's the best temp?
I have a little 4in or so guy and I want to put him in my 75g. The temp in that tank is around 85F.
Please help me out. Thanks.

Oh, also, could he live with mumba cichlids? He ate my Platy and other 2in or so fish. So he is alone in a 5g until I get the 75 ready for him.
Anyone with pics of an adult?

Usually they do well in temps in the high 70s or low 80s. I keep mine between 78-82F.

85F might be a bit high, I'd recommend lowering it a few degrees if that's possible. If you can't lower it though, that shouldn't be much of a problem. They're pretty hardy fish, a few degrees either way shouldn't be an issue if the temperature isn't extremely hot or cold. As long as your water is mostly clean and you feed it well, it'll probably be fine.

yup pretty much what Delhezi222 said. The high 70's to the very low 80's. I personnally keep my temp at 78 degrees. 85 degrees is too high for a bichir. Lower it ASAP. I wouldn't recommend large cichlids of any kind with bichirs since cichlids are aggresive and might bully the bichir.

the awesomness of copy and paste!! LOL.

Oh no, he is NOT in the 75 w/the hot temps yet. He is in a 5g w/77F water. I was thinking of doing Well water changes everyday to keep it cooled. So, I'll be moving his filter onto the 75 after a w/c w/cold water.

Here's my 10 inch senegal. I keep my water at 80 degrees.

Lol. I bought mine at 8 inches. He's grown 2 inches in 3 months, this guy downs medium pellets when it's feeding time.

I keep them in 84. Never had a problem

Tank stays 80 at night, 84F day time. I've tried ice bottles and daily cold water changes, but it never lasts. A few hours and the temp is back up. There's 2 hob filters and a 1ft air stone in to keep the water full of as much air I can. He seems very content. Gobbles food and has his exploring times. He even started coming to the glass to see what I wanted and if I was going to feed him. Didn't know they did that nor so fast... =D
