I purchased a senegal from the pet store yesterday and today "he" went into my ornamental skull and there are now what appear to be eggs in there. There is nothing else in the tank that they could be I have black gravel and these are white but the bichir is only 4ish inches long. Anyone have some thoughts on the matter?

Without pictures there's no telling what they are, but at 4'' it's highly unlikely that they are eggs! Senegals probably don't reach sexual maturity until they grow to the 8"-10" range, and at 4" it's not possible to determine their sex with any accuracy. IME Johnathan
Just the senegal a rhino pleco and what I think is a mono pbass all the same size. The bichir looks like a dragon guarding treasure.
do look like eggs...i don't know. if they are eggs and if the senegal laid them, then i guess 'he' turns out to be a 'she'.
as for the 4" size, i guess it is possible. she could be sexually mature, but has bad genes, a runt, has stunted growth or something along those lines. otherwise, a 4" senegal is too young to lay eggs.
