That rhino pleco with devour them first chance it gets. If at all possible I would take it out and put in another tank.

he could be an older bichir that was stunted. length may give false impression of its age... as unlikely as it sounds, they do appear to be eggs. GL!

around 10" would be ideal size for them to mate, but if there is only 1 sen in the tank, then how would the eggs hatch?

ooohhh yeah I forgot egg layers don't know the joys of sex so they would not be fertilized. Unless they are like lizards which have sex and then lay eggs when they feel the time is right. They store the sperm away.
