setting up a 125 gallon fish tank stand

Hello I am new here and thank you for letting me post.

I am setting up a 125 gallon tank stand.I am following a picture I found on pinterest using cinder blocks and 2x10x6 wood.My issue is my tank is like 18 and 3/4 inch wide and the cinder blocks are only around 15 and 3/4 wide.I have placed two 2x10x6 pieces of wood over them (well not quite 10 inches wide with both pieces on the cinder blocks I am right at 18 and 3/4 inch which is just wide enough for the width of the tank.My issue is that `I have a total of around 3 to 3.5 inches of over hang with the wood hanging over the cinder block edges width wise.The tank glass or frame will sit on the wood o.k. but the wood over hangs the cinder blocks on both sides probably close to 2 inches each side.Is this going to be o.k. to set up this way with the wood and tank over hang as long as the tank is on the wood itself even though there is a two inch overhang with the wood over hanging the cinder blocks on each side width wise?I don't want to add any weight yet until I know but am anxious to get this tank cycling.

Here is a picture of what I am talking about.I think it will be fine.The two boards or four boards all together just sit on the cinder blocks their not glued or screwed down or together but I assume with the weight of the tank on them there will be no movement issues.

Didn't realize your planks were that thin. It would probably be fine, but I, personally, would feel better using two 2"X6" studs for the top where the tank will be resting on.....just due to the overhang

The planks all four of them are 2 inch by 10 inch by 6 feet.Are you speaking of the very top planks the tank would sit on?Replacing these with 2x6x6?I would need three of these or slightly over three to match the 18 and 3/4 width of the tank.

My mistake. The pic is deceiving, it doesn't look 2" thick. You're good to go!

Well technically they aren't 2 inch thick even though when you buy them they are labeled as 2 inch thick.They are just over 1.5 inch thick in reality....is this still ok?

Wouldn't hurt to throw a couple of coats of polyeurethane on the wood for some wetness protection......but not neccessary.

You can also raise that stand much higher by adding more cinder blocks to the bottom (no need to add more wood). I also prefer a tank at/near eye level.

What are you planning for stock?

Yeap. They just look like they were around 3/4" from the pic
