Setting up my 2262 ideas. Input please

I have 2260 (only difference from 2262 is weaker pump).. i have like that - bottom layer is 2" foam, then 12L (~3g) of bio ceramic rings and upper layer 1,5" foam.. thats it and runs perfectly for over 7 months..this week will be maintenance tho whole media in canister cost me about 130$

That's all the media = $360. A lot of money on media alone

Shop on amazon and kensfish.com,much cheaper,also why both chemi pure and purigen?I would skip those for more bio.Also do you or do you not have the filter up and running already?In your first post you said you already had all this stuff so why are you shopping for it again?

This is what I currently run on the filter. I think my biggest problem is that I don't have enough bio filtration, running a BB tank gives me very little beneficial bacteria as it is, and on my filter all I have for bio is, Ceramic rings/plastic balls with foam inside of them. Also you said dumb the purigen and chemi pure for more bio. I would like to keep chemi pure , is purigen really necessary ? for my tank setup/ stock.

I took this advice and instead of spending $360 on ebay. I spend $ 225 in total, buying at amazon, kenfish and ebay. Stil got all the media I wanted. Now, should I even open the canister at all for the first 6 months? just water changes and that's it?
