I wanna believe my powers of telling a festae from mayan by now. I see and raise baby mayan allll the time. But this other guy wants to believe the wholesaler (segrest) that its a true red terror. The tank says "rare!!!" and all. So am i nuts? Hea about 2". Colors are strong. Hes always at the back of the tank so clear pics super hard.

Definitely not fastae. The tail spot is in upper half if it were fastae. I am guessing it is indeed mayan.

Isnt he weird though? So much red and blue on the bottom fins. Im getting more to compare. Still looks like it will make an interesting grow out.

Could be an unfaded Amphilophus species. I have seen quite a few look like that when young. Either way (as everyone has said), not Festae.

Looks like a feamle C. urophthalmus. The only thing I find odd is the "y" pattern that I have not seen on uros but is present on Festae. Maybe one of the Festae guys can set me strait on this. Otherwise it looks uro to me.
