I got 7 rotkiel at an auction,at least I hope they turn out to be rotkiels, only one inch now ill be posting pics in about a year I guess

feed em good and keep good water, it should only be 3 months to get good pics and see colors.

I got 2 green/turqs for my 125. Seriously amazed at the growth rate of these fish. I must go back to one lfs and get the RED they got in.

from what I've seen and read there's about 4-5 forms. Green/Turq, gold, rotkeil (red shoulder), red  and a black cheek (I've only seen in aqualog). Of course there's the possibility of an albino.

I'll get pics of mine this weekend.

i already posted these in breeding section , and my pics are crummy,
also have about 30 fry at pea size . i want to grow em up a bit, keep a couple females,
far as i know both were wild caught

hi have 2 gold severums and i love them. even though they are greedy as hell.. . i got them in august for like 3.00 each @ lfs. they had a bunch of them and were all pale quite white. after a month of krill and hikari gold along with plenty of bloodworms and beefheart they have grown up to 5" and have a beautiful orange color. im new to them and all i know is what ive read and researched. is it true that the males have more facial to gill markings? :help2:

Great thread you guys, and lots of great looking sevs. I agree that they are very underrated.

Mine is very young, here is a picture anyway. He's in there somewhere among the convict cichlids in my growout tank. He's a bit larger now, this picture is about two months old.
