Ok so I bought some flourish excel and some flourish trace. Im not going to use the recommended dosing because I just turned 15 and I'm trying not to blow through all my money and my parents refuse to pay a dime for this hobby. I didn't buy the root tablets I might do that later next week. I just bought a 100$ of plants at my lfs yesterday. So their each 8.5fl oz bottles should I dose today? And how much would be a good amount for a 100gal aquarium with swords crypts anubias jungle val pennywort hornwort duckweed ludwigia and an unkown plant? As well as a few lotus bulbs a few more crypts another anubias some mosses aponogeton that I special ordered that should arrive in an unkown amount of days

I just bought a 5" BRISTLENOSE 2 days ago but I have like 20pieces of driftwood huge and tiny malaysain african etc... and he hasn't even moved from the driftwood. He LOVES it! I can't get him to clean the glass. Should I remove the wood? I filmed him for 12hours last night. He never even moved! Btw my lights are blindingly bright but their only on 8hrs now. He doesn't like algae!

You should start to see some improvement now that you have a bunch of plants in the tank to out compete the algae for nutrients and have cut your photo period down.

If you still experience problems, you may want to remove 2 of your bulbs. If the fixture can't run without all bulbs in place, perhaps remove the reflector or add some screen to cut the light.

Once the duckweed starts to grow, it will suck up any excess nutrient and provide some shade.
