Severum tank size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Except that in my experience, they do get more aggressive and actve as they get larger. That was the point of my original post. They were attacking adult discus and severums in my large community tanks, to the point that I had to remove them. They made my other fish skittish and uneasy.

I think it's important to hear various personal accounts so that people can make an informed decision. Maybe others have not had that experience with festivums, but it was the same for all three groups of mine. Any time I see a question about Mesonauta, I always weigh in to let people know what they may experience.

I've never heard of them becoming aggressive like that; good to know, I guess.

I thought you mom said you can only have one more tank for your community fish that are overstocking your 70 g or whatever. Then your going to ask more overstocking qquestions and still give other people advice on overstocking :p you should slow down once again and just keep struggling with what you have like you said before

Dude you are a bigger troll the oscaroo. My stock hasnt changed. My grammodes are doin good and my freddys are growing fast.

Your stock hasn't changed? In what the last two weeks?

So im sure alot of people on here know that ive gone through various fish over the past 2 years to find something that catches my interest again..

Various equals about 50 different species of fish. Like I said, you getting on oscaroo is "pot calling the kettle". You hypocrite.

Nice thread hijack guys. Very helpful.

OP- I personally would keep a severum in a 40 gallon. With minimal tank mates such as larger tetras or barbs. Just have good filtration.

if you kept a Severum in a 40g it will stunt its gowth big time and have health problems, plus they are messy fish and i doubt you could keep the filtration up to scratch in such a small body of water.

I will change 70 percent of it's water weekly if I get a severum. i am having trouble deciding.

Salvinis or severums or festums. hard to decide. Plus it would be better in space wise to keep a salvini. I might consider a salvini. what do you guys think?

I think she relized that I could handle more because i spend hours doing water changes every week. still 30-40 gallon tanks are EASY to maintain. My only struggles are my big tanks. i did make a very good water change thing.

75 gallon Oscar tank, 20% on fri and 50% on sun
65 gallon BP tank, 20% on fri and 30% on sun
30 gallon FM and a couple smaller fish tank,20% on fri and 30% on sun
40 gallon catfish tank ( i might move the catfish if it gets any bigger) 20% on fri and 30% on sun
