Severum tank size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i dont get some of this logic, howcome a 20gal is okay for a convict pair, which get 6" and 4" but a single festivum needs double the space?

I agree with what your saying, and you can cycle a tank really fast if you change media over etc. But the OP is similar to me and would like to try owning all SA and CA fish at once. However i found setting up my tank with the landscaping and planting etc gave me an idea of what stock i wanted.

To the OP, from the sounds of it you are still young, (like me) and you have plenty of time to own all the fish you like. So my advice would be to start with the ones you can easily obtain from your lfs. Then work from there. If you haven't attempted it already try breeding cichlids. I personally couldn't have got more satisfaction from doing so. Firemouths were my first, a little harder than cons, but its easier to shift the fry. And a challenge is always fun right?

OP = Original Poster, that would be you. And 75 gal is not big. LOL When I say big, I mean at least 125. Side note, it is so funny to see an add on CL, "large tank and stand FS" and you click on it and its a measly 30 gal. LOL
30 gallons is not large.Oh 125. I might get one when i am more experienced. 75 is not small tough i saw your amazing video. It was like 10 minuets long. your cat is funny. your fish are amazing!

I do want a festum. But i do want some interaction. Can you name some cool medium sized cichlids besides convicts witch I can get 2 of or get a pair in a 30-40 gallon tank.

I have a FM in a 30 gallon tank. he i with a school giant danios and a rainbow fish who schools with them. i also have 2 three spot goramis. Do they give the FM company?

my friend has a Bp in a 10 gallon tank with a couple other fishes. i might take that off his hands and let it live in a 30-40 gallon tank by himself. i think it will be fine in a 30-40 gallon tank. i mean it is better than having it in a 10 gallon tank.

Had a full grown Gold Severum in a 55 gallon for about 3 years now and she seems fine :D very healthy and friendly
