55 gallon with two red severum, a senegal bichir, and a synodontis?
when i get the severums do i have to get a male and a female or are two males together ok?

The combination should be fine. I had 2 males together with no problems. If you get a male and female, they'll breed, they breed quite readily.

so they breed really easily?

They do breed easily. 4 is pushing it for a 55, but if you go without the syno you could make 4 work. But it might not be needed, I had 2 males together for a spell without any aggression at all.

I would say 4 is deff too much for a 55, you have to consider that some bichirs alone can grow to be over 24", add to that a catfish and 4 moderately sized cichlids and the bio load alone is going to have you doing daily water changes

Its not some bichir he said... senegals dont grow that big...

To the op... A pair would be fine IMO... i had two male... one used to get badly bullied... so it depends....

so maybe 1 male and two female severums, one syno, and one senegal?

i can live without getting the synos, they aren't that cool anyways

If you're not stoked about the syno, don't get it. They add a lot to the Bio load and aren't really good for much.
