Possibly a male because of the long dorsal and anal fins. Females are shorter.

It's tough to tell from your pic. So I lightened it up. Looks like a male, more elongated with larger dorsal and anal fins (as was mentioned by @twilight zone)

Looks male, taller body in proportion to length along with the longer finnage. Young one can be difficult to tell though. Is it by itself or with other polleni?

Thanks guys, that's what I also thought. Notho2000 are those your pollenis? If so they're beautiful my polleni isn't nearly that solid with the blue spots. He's got like brown areas and I read that's from stress:/ he was pure black before I put that stupid kenyi in (who terrorized him)

The polleni is with 2 delhezi and 1 fire eel. All buddy's no aggression yet that I've noticed

In nothos photo note the curvature of the alpha male profile and the brown color in it, also note the females are darker and have more torpedo shaped profiles.
Yours seems young yet, in mine the male profile didn't become apparent until approx 5", and any other males in the tank of lessor status would actually mimic female color and did not develop the distinct profile curve until the alpha was removed.

Okay that makes sense. Thanks everybody I feel that it can be determined that it is a male. I think he's going to be a good lookin guy.
