Stab, what makes you so sure its a female?

From those pics, you really can't tell. You need a shot of the vent (not a shot of the fins hiding the vent like is posted ;))

yeah she is one the spot with this responce. however in the bottom pic u can almost see the male genitila. but yes a better pic would help. also if you think its female becasue of no kok. then you will be mistaken. females can grown nice kok's aswell.

somebody said he it should have a hump by now,so i was concerned

it looks more like a female to be because he hasnt even started to get t he hump yet and i think it looks like a girl but a better pic of the vent would help alot

guessing based on 'common' traits - i say female.
but as mentioned, the last pic shows it potentially could be male too.

a focused pic of the vent would get you a more definite answer.
try getting a closeup while feeding. get a bud to help out if necessary.

LargeCichlid don't worry I'm leaning more toward male due to pointy dorsals, females usually dont establish them that sharp at that size. And as far as the hump is concerned I wouldn't worry about it, all my rd's at that size didn't start getting humps until I put them in a tank with other aggressive fish and then the hump blew up. If they are kept solo the hump in most cases wont get large until they reach 8"+.....Either way its a nice RD...
