Sex this Festae

what i find funny is that people are still guessing female! Balton you are absolutely correct about the males throwing black into their dorsal during breeding. This is a picture of my male in his breeding suit.
 
here is a good pic of my male colored up...he gives her a run for the money in the color department.

This one is clearly male,Females will not have that much spangling and color also says male

I noticed from previous posts that you know Festae pretty well. So maybe you can answer this: Can you tell the difference between a male and female by the size and color of their tail spots? I have six and they all look about the same except for their tail spots. Out of the six, three have small spots and the other three have larger spots with a brighter blue. The Festae are between 3"-4", up from 1.5" two months ago.

hmm, I have never tried i will compare mine and let you know. If you have any pics I would be glad to look at them!
 
I'll try to get some pics up soon. They hide out most of the day and won't show too much color when the lights are on. After I turn off the tank lights they swim all over the place, showing a lot more color. Anyway, I'll get the pics. Thanks, uncwnells.
