Sexing Green Terror (before buying)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Following this thread because I too am trying to sex my 4" GT. Not sure if it's more polite to ask for help sexing my GT here or start yet another 'sex my GT' thread, but here goes...

Mine has a small point on Dorsal, nice wide orange band on tail, and lots of yellow-gold in the ventral fins. So some male indicators but the 'shininess' of body scales comes and goes. Is not a dominant fish and is being picked on by male Nic who I'm going to move out.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Best of luck your new fish! I’m not sure if you made a new thread for them already, but be sure to share some pictures:)

Yeah I think you are right. Been hoping it would be a male but still a beautiful fish, and, being smaller at adult size, perhaps she with be OK with the Carpintis that she's growing up with. Hoping for that anyways...

Beautiful!
Yes that other one looks different, but I can’t say what it is.

Love the color on those guys!

I don’t know geos, but maybe it’s just a different kind?
If you take a closer picture and post a thread asking for help I’m sure someone will be able to identify it pretty quickly.

For some reason the colors make me think Bolivian ram. But it doesn’t look quite right for that.
I’m so curious now. Lol
