First one looks like a carpintis second one looks like a could be cyanoguttatus or mix, something doesn’t look right...

They are the same species just asking about sex

Probably aquarium strain mutts. Very common in LFS carpintus/cyanoguttatus these days.
And although newworld hasn't mentioned it, he has caught many true cyanoguttatus in nature, and I would trust his assessment.
But at first glance, yes...., 1st pic male, 2nd female.

1st is male, no dark spot in dorsal fin
2nd is female due to the dark spot

I have easily been able to sex carpintus at just over 1 inch.
The males easily stand out in the pic below.
