Sexy Plumbing - Island Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Novus 2 looks the same so I didn’t take any progress pics. It was evenings for a couple weeks to do this though.

The front and back out panels aren’t touched yet. Saving those for after we’re done needing to move the tank

Left = thin air
Right = acrylic post buffing.

The floor came out stellar. This view is to a tank behind it, looking through the floor

The above is current progress tank pic. The stand is going to be done this weekend. Still need to:

-buff front and back
-buff the inner corner supports
-paint floor black
-pressure wash inner corners and redo the Weldon

So far this a sexy sanding foreplay thread...

Do you have any pics of your geos while you tease us?

These are from tonight. The stock list:
x13 Geophagus abalios
x15 Geophagus altifrons

They grew out in a 44”x30”x24” with a 60g sump and sponges. I plan to keep the alti’s in the new tank permanently. The abalios will go in with rays when large enough

It's tiring just reading that. Great job. I appreciate the behind the scenes dirty work and intricate details your showing.

Switched back to the tank since I forgot to get ply for the stand.

Someone did horrible job adding corners. It’s bugged me since the day I got it.

Distilled vinegar in a weldon applicator bottle let you get in and dissolve that deep stuff. Won’t be perfect but as good as used can get.

I low power pressure washer and razor for sand gets the rest.

Ready for painting the bottom. I’ll use #4 to seal up those bubbles when the tanks upright.

Paint is latex base, onyx black color, in semi gloss finish. Four thick coats in total. The 9” rollers forsmooth surfaces give an end result thats pro for cheap.

^ keep in mind the acrylic isn’t finished or polished yet. Once it’s in the stand we’ll do the finishing work/shiny stuff
