Shadow People / Hat Man

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ah, yes. The thick aroma of socially appropriate nay-say banter. I say the exact same things about crap I don't believe in either. Which is really just because - you haven't seen it.
Hey, I said I was on the believing side.

The shadow people have always been out of the corner of my eye. Over the years I've noticed an increase/decrease depending on what house I've lived in. So I believe something weird is happening there. Did I drink too much in my younger days? I don't know, but I don't dismiss it.

As far as the Hatman. I never saw him live but in a dream. So strange that I remember this one dream from 35 years ago so clearly that match other's description and until yesterday was unaware that other's have seen him.

Keeping LBF tradition alive, I see.
Totally different. Hatman would fall under the line of ghosts. Throughout history there has been countless reports of ghosts and hauntings.

The stuff LBF was talking about was moving stuff with your mind.

There have been countless reports of Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, Ogopogo, Chupacabra, alien abductions, and flying saucers. Do you seriously take that as compelling evidence for the existence of any of these creatures/phenomena?

My 2 pennies, i had a "dream" a while back where I was convinced I woke up, but was paralyzed and couldn't move. There was a black figure looming over me and not so much screaming as making unpleasant wailing noises. I felt I was being choked even though I didn't see hands on my neck. All I remember was trying to get up so I could protect my girlfriend, and after 10 seconds and what seems like effort equivalent to me bench pressing my max i managed to sit up and everything was normal. Most vivid experience I've ever had.

At first when I read this thread, this dream popped into my head immediately. Why? Because it was so similar. And now that I think about it more, that's all it is, similarities. A shadowy figure is not exactly the least known omen out there, any sort of figure can be interpreted as shadowy when dreaming, and furthermore it represents a lot of legitimate fears that people have which probably manifest themselves in dream. We were taught as young to be wary of darkness, strangers, and people in your house that shouldn't be there. Even if you're not scared of these things now, they are in your psyche. So let's recap: we have a tired state which could be half dream, lucid dream, or full dream, a very vague description of a figure (dressed or whatever), and a potential for mass hysteria based on similar experience. Put that in the hands of some impressionable people, put a name on it, and voila. I'm not saying you didn't see what you did, I'm saying it's a coincidence your experience is similar to a ton of other people's. It's just by virtue of the human consciousness, possibly a phenomenon, i dont put anything supernatural to it though.

Common trends:
About 8 feet tall.
Appears in bedrooms most of the time.
Red or yellow eyes sometimes, but never an actual face - yet the person can "feel" him smiling or sneering.
Other people with the person may or may not be able to see him.
Sometimes reported to pinch, burn by touch, or choke people, but MOST of the time just stares...

Lmfao, anyone else think Bill Cosby?

He wasn't hatman. LBF was an air-bender.

I don't know, just seems like a fitting addition to the LBF legacy to me.

you did not bring up the Chupacabra:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

This thread hurts my head

If you read my statement you quoted. I'm not fully convinced myself but I accept that there seems to be more then meets the eye. Why are SO many people convinced of what they saw throughout history?

The main purpose of bringing that up to begin with is it's become so much common place nowdays. Look at how many ghost and haunted tv shows there are. Compare that with how many air-bender tv shows there are. Two totally different things.

that's actually a phenomenon called sleep paralysis. look it up

many cultures (including mine) believe it to be being "raped" or just haunted by a spirit. but it's just sleep paralysis.

+1, this is an actual documented thing. Most people see the shapes of dogs and other dangerous animals (in a shadowy form). I've read that some scientists believe that this gives a view back into our most primal fears, like sleeping in the woods and waking up to a predator in your camp or another group of humans out to get you.

Ya for sure, I looked it up immediately the day after it happened, fascinating topic. Just saying, that's a common experience as well, hatman probably the same thing.

I wish a shadow woman would visit me tomorrow for Valentines night, otherwise I'm having a fairly uneventful evening!
