My weeksii as a ‘baby’.
It was a wild caught from Aquatic Day Care. Here it is at 7”
Still had external gills
If you look closely you notice even at this size the stubble of external gills

My weeksii is out and about and a very outgoing swimmer, just a shy feeder.
My smaller weeksii is very shy, however my big boy is one of the most active polys in my tank. Hard to get stationary pics as he is often cruising around the tank
I was kind of scared for a moment a weeksii has been on my list for a while now and I didn’t want to end up getting one then for it to always be hiding and afraid of me. That be a lot of bioload for a hider.

what do you feed these bad boys?
I don't take many pics of the little weeksii. She is shy and frankly not very impressive It is remarkable how different their body shapes are. The big male is massive and thick from snout to tail, the female is thick in the middle but heavily tapered to the tail.
Here is a pick of the little girl, she is 16/17"
Weeksii are great bichirs but will be a gamble on activity levels. The fact they are not as common, alone makes them a must have
