To help clear confusion. A magnum-x umbee is a WC Location X (lake Guatape) male umbee father and Rio Mag mother. The the crossing of the two locations is a magnum-x. Umbeeking collected the specimen in the url below.

Watch "UMBEEKINGS LOCATION X SUPREME X" on YouTube
UMBEEKINGS LOCATION X SUPREME X: http://youtu.be/JBM6ZUC_Mnw

Pictured below is my keeper Magnum X contact umbeeking directly if your interested in these.

I know it's not a super warrior like the aforementioned f3's are but I think it is a great looking specimen.

Nice lil umbee magx.
Magx is man made strain umbee. Rio mag is natural.. But that is in depth..

basically they are both pure solid umbees of the same type with out ppl naming them.

Yes to help confuse you even further... I laugh at all the ignorant people claiming rights and loyalties to rio mag umbees!!!! Lol up until 5 years ago, majority of umbees were reffered to as Colombian blues because no locale was mentioned. Then someone came out with rio mag as locale and bam!!! Every blue umbee in the hobby is now automatically a rio mag up untill Umbeeking brought in location x and z!!!! For the record there were other locations brought in that were assumed to be rio mag:) Rolf so what's really in your tank???? Damn right nobody really knows! So for the ignorant hobbiests please continue being hard core rio mag fans cause that's all you really know;) and for those that see truth in this please keep an open mind when it comes not only to umbees but other species as well:) and yes a magnum x is a name givin to a creation of so called rio mag and location x! Now I can't even be 100% that the general was rio mag but can only say he was because what he was sold as, and that's all anyone can go off of. So please understand that all blue umbees are awesome and special in their own way!!! So let's embrace all locations and not be discriminatory towards any one strain or cross. Because before you do, just think that "your" pure mags, may not be as pure as you think. At least Umbeeking named his locations so they can be kept track of and none of the WCCU will be selling or passing them around under any assumption or mis labeling them!

Oh now u are learning fwp.

Rio mag is a location only.. I do not consider it a strain lol

I just know Rio mag means one location and im gonna keep it pure like that.

A lot of u guys like yourself fwp care about ecuador festaes and Peru festaes care about location abc are all on the wrobg track..

Geographic location # does not = fish strain #.
Two different stories.

Your wrong about me and my opinion about location. To me location is just a label to identify certain strains. As far as the Festae goes I use the location as a reference to what I like. Cause yes technically you can have nice and ugly specimens from any said location but like it or not, the majority of the Peruvian Festae come from one source over seas and I'm am not impressed to say the least!! There is too big of a trend of similarities involved with Festae from that source

I find this thread and debate funny especially from you Animalguy knowing your background.. For one thing I have had the oppertunity thanks to being close friends with Umbee King. To have seen more Umbee in numbers, sizes and types, than you will ever see.. I can tell you the difference is noticable between the two location points in dispute. It was when these guys started years back and still is today. Even for a guy who Umbee are not his number one thing this could be can seen easy from far away. Both location points in question were crossed, two pure stains to make what? Still pure umbee, but just with better traits (freakles, and body shape) that's called raising the bar my friend! You of all people i would think could appricate it. Fact of the matter is people can yap their faces off but the West Coast Umbee Crew produces the best and highest quality Umbees in the World, be it as Jason said Standard Blue Umbee, Gorillas Black or Blue... Breeding a cichlid type once also does not qualify anyone to be an expert or authority on a fish type either lol. What does qualify you is being acreditied for not only discovering two new color variants of a species, bringing back new blood from new location points of old veriants, and circlating the fish not only county wide but world wide...So before you knock an outstanding collaberation of two location points for something better, from guys who clearly have much more experiance and knowledge on the subject than yourself.. Take a step back and chill. Be happy that you breed some fish and enjoy the hobby buddy :)
About the Festae yeah the difference in the two know location opints or counties which they come from is also super noticable and I have to take Janson's stance on them because the Paruvian i have seen have been lets just say less than desirable.
