Shark Aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hah, I just checked their FB and saw you eyeing the 4 inch Albino Silver Aro's. Monster is a great little place and some of his prices are off the hook and his stock is always impressive. I told him he should become a vendor on MFK but he's so far stayed as a regular member. By the way did he give you a price on the Albino Aro's via pm? If he did mind sharing with me over pm. Don't want nobody snagging one before I can.

Edit: Oh and what size are the Zebrina and does he have any left?
HAHA- watching what im looking at...lol.. I just pmed you and I talked to him about vendor status too... I figure if i show up with a big group on a tour I can revisit the convo then

I literally just walked in from Monster and they are well worth the trip... I just bought a baby Leichartdi Aro for 70 and a 10 inch zebrina for 350- And Charney Charney got an 18 + Fire eel for 100....

We are going to plan a MFK Queens tour soon so keep your eyes out for that

Do you remember if they had a decent polypterus section ?

lol-Hey man it seems like you always got the bead on the best fish, bruh. So yeah, I be creeping sometimes. HaHa.. I'm surprised he never went for it I told him it could really open up his shipping sales. Unless that's the issue. Maybe he doesn't care or feel he has the time to ship?

I know this wasn't directed at me but figured you could use the info. I haven't been going there long, just a couple of months but in that time I haven' seen any poly's.

Thx Charney Charney and koltsixx koltsixx

George at shark aquarium back in the day from 90's to early days to the mid 2000's. Was the real brick and mortar go to tropical fish store. I remember when George landed the two 3 1/2 foot Aimara from VZ sent by Ivan. I visited his store back then from the west coast. And he chatted a bit as i was big poster back when WW was around and before that was Predatory Fish. Started by Josh, Clay etc. Alot of history, alot of dreaming of rare fish back in those days. And to see Shark Aquarium and owner George hang up the towel is sad, but im glad i was there during the early pioneering days with all the rest of the hobbyists. When you consider the economy, we are in a recession. And things havnt been the same since the crash imo. Like the every hobby, the rare tropical fish hobby is mature now, hence the newness that the internet gave the hobby has since settled to where its at now. Wish you well G~

I also heard the store was closed. I believe Rout 4 Aquarium closed as well. I remember when MTC was around. Jeff and Leo made some bio-wheel sump back in the day. This is reminding me of when Home-Depo opened and most hardware stores went out of business. Now we are loosing these pet shops and are getting barnbarted with Petco. What a shame.
