You are just going to have to wait it out and monitor the development of the egg.I saw that you took it to the fish store for safekeeping until your tank is straightened out so hopefully it is not too inconvenient for you to get there regularly.....and my goodness at that photo.Most of those looked like they would be trouble for a very small young shark though.

You are absolutely right K krichardson those Triggers will go after the sharks eyes or stress the Shark out. I wouldn't trust the puffer either. The Panther would probably be ok. I've personally had Panther grouper cohab with a Grey Bamboo Catshark.
You had a grey?.....they were never available around here back when I was into sharks.

Absolutely those fish would have chewed right through that shark. I'm guessing the triggers did in the lion. Thats pretty common too. How big of a tank is this?
If you can shine a light into the egg and the yolk is gone, you can help the little guy out by cutting a small piece off one end and peeling it back. Try to do this under water in a small bowl. Don't panic if it comes shooting out and be ready in case it tries jumping out of the bowl. Best to place the little shark in a bare bottom tank of container for a few days to allow his belly to harden up and not get scratched up from the sand or rocks.
I assumed that was general practice as there is a breeder near me and they not only recommend they use that procedure on most of their pups. 2 of my three I got from them and the third came from someone who could no longer care for it and had no idea where it came from originally. But I watched them open the eggs of the two I got from them. After they opened them they told me two weeks to get them eating and I could take them home. They told me the survival rate was higher that way. When I got out of salt they went back to them as I was afraid to just sell them off to just anyone. They seem legit in their practices and procedures lots of coral and fish propagation from them. Was one of my main places to go for cool exotic corals and fish.
Honestly I thought it was a little weird but if the babies sometimes die trying to get out why not help them out if you can. Ofcoarse I think these were on the way out anyway so I dont believe it was "rushed" in their cases. More like insured.
Doesn't necessarily make it right, or something that someone who doesn't know what they are doing should attempt. I'd be worried about hurting them. All mine ended up being female so I never had to worry about it. Kinda glad really as I could have purchased a male I guess.
