Hello I would like to create a "shark tank". I would like to hear the options I have for fish to put in the tank. They must be able to live in the tank for life. All suggestions are greatly appreciated thanks.

Ok so there isn't really any "sharks" you can get to live in there for full life so what i recommend is getting some colombian sharks which are catfish that look just like sharks and only get 10" yes it sounds to good to be true because it is they need to have gradually inserted aquarium salt another species I would get would be bala sharks, rainbow sharks, and one iridescent shark which would supply the look and feel of a real "shark" tank and all of those fish except maybe the iridescent shark can live in there their whole lives because iridescent sharks get big and they jump and swim really fast. Here is the stock I would get
6- bala sharks
6- rainbow sharks
3- Colombian sharks
2- plecostomus
1- iridescent shark

Three Colombians is alot so I wouldn't recommend getting that many but rather one
But if your not looking for looks of sharks but rather feeding of sharks then pick up a pair of jack dempseys they are awesome fish and two can live in this 120

Are you serious Andrew did you forget your thread already or something?? Colombian sharks will need to be gradually introduced to a full marine setup not fresh water so those other fish he recommended would not be a good choice for Colombian sharks.

Are you serious I do know about my thread and like I said in the reply (reread it) you will gradually need to add more aquarium salt and they don't need fully marine setups just alot of salt so other fish will be able to live with it

Sorry to derail all the sharks he recommended would be good just not all together and an Id will outgrow a 120. And yes I did read it. what you're not getting is that the other fish are fresh water so that means no salt. Ya they need lots of salt so the other fish will die. Do you not get the difference between salt water and fresh water? The salt your thinking of that the other fresh water fish can tolerate is aquarium salt which Is way different from ocean salt which the Colombians shark needs and the others can't live in.

Ohhhh I thought they needed aquarium salt sorry I misunderstood it all then I wouldn't recommend the Colombian sharks and no iridescent unless you want to get rid of it when it starts to outgrow the tank but other than that just go with the stock I gave you

If i was able to get that stock list I would be super excited. But I knew that I wouldn't as ID sharks require like 400+ gallon tanks and columbian sharks like brackish water. I've done some research on these fish. Bala sharks are cool but not worthy of my 120 haha.
